Your CU1 Debit Card will be reissued as a SSCU Visa® Debit Card in late September; please review the instructions that come with your new card. You may activate your new SSCU Debit Card when it is received – however, you cannot start using your new SSCU Visa® Debit Card until after 4p.m. on September 29, 2017, which is when your CU1 Debit Card will be deactivated. Please continue to use your CU1 Debit Card until then.
ACTION REQUIRED: Once your SSCU Visa® Debit Card is activated, please communicate your new SSCU Visa® Debit Card number to anyone with whom you have automatic payments, specifically transactions that will process after October 1, 2017.
CU1 checking members with overdraft protection from their savings account will have the same protection on their new SSCU checking account. Additional overdraft protection options, such as a Visa® Platinum Reward Credit Card and Personal Line of Credit, are offered by SSCU. Overdraft Protection transfer fees can be reduced or waived based on total household deposit and loan balances through our Simply Rewarding Member Rewards Program.
If you have a checking account at CU1 and do not have a negative account history with SSCU, you will automatically receive SSCU’s Courtesy Pay (CP). This service will cover checks, ACH and recurring debit items for a fee when funds are not available in your SSCU checking account or in your overdraft protection source(s). Based on SSCU Courtesy Pay policies, your overdraft limit will start at $500 and can be as high as $1,000 after our system identifies that a direct deposit of $250 or more has posted to your account.
Members granted Courtesy Pay may also choose to opt-in to Courtesy Pay Plus (CPP) which will cover your everyday debit and ATM transactions for a fee. If you do not opt-in, these transactions will not be covered in the event you do not have funds available in your SSCU checking account or your overdraft protection sources. The form that accompanied your Welcome Booklet entitled Seven Seventeen Credit Union Inc. Courtesy Pay/Courtesy Pay Plus will give you all the available options to opt-in to or opt-out of this service.
Please see our Membership and Share Account Agreement and Disclosure for more information about our discretionary Courtesy Pay/Courtesy Pay Plus service.
