It has come to our attention that the following FRAUDLENT SCAM attempt is being made:
We’ve been made aware that some Seven Seventeen members have been contacted by fraudsters using Seven Seventeen phone numbers beginning with the exchange "330-372" (also showing in the caller ID as Seven Seventeen). During the call, the fraudster has stated that the member has won a trip, or will be able to lower his or her interest rate. When the member states that he or she is not interested, a recorded message is played with details about these offers.
This is an example of "spoofing," where a person or company falsely uses Caller ID to make phone calls. BE ALERT! This is a FRAUDULENT ATTEMPT to gain your personal information or monetary funds. These calls are not coming from Seven Seventeen Credit Union.
The safest way to protect your information is to NEVER give your account information or log-in credentials to anyone who is calling you. PLEASE do NOT share your account information or your ONLINE BANKING credentials with anyone. If you receive any call that is suspicious, hang up immediately. If you feel that your account information may have been compromised, please contact Seven Seventeen.
